This Carefree awning is compatible with most current awning set-ups. Since this is compatible with most systems, you will be able to retain the awning look that you want. You will need to buy the awning canvas, but these shouldn’t be too expensive.

A 12V power supply means that this can be powered from the main power for your RV. There is no need to have an external electrical hookup.

This is an incredibly stable system too. Even when it is pulled out halfway, there is enough stability here to ensure that it doesn’t just collapse while you are using it.

What We Like

We do like the cross-compatibility with other awning systems. However, we genuinely love the speed at which this rolls out. It takes about a minute for it to be fully extended. As we mentioned before, you don’t even have to open it to the full 8-feet. You can have it partially extended if you lack space around your RV.

What We Don’t Like

You have to purchase the roller assembly separately, which does add to the price.

If you want a complete motorized awning system, then this is what you need. There will be no need to purchase any additional accessories. Everything you need, including the canvas, is included right there in the box.

The canvas is 100% PVC, which means that it will provide the perfect amount of protection for you. UV resistance means that the color isn’t going to fade over time. Waterproof means that you can sit under here without the worry of getting wet when it rains.

This runs on a 12V power supply, which is the ideal way to use it. However, you will also find a hand crank in the box. The hand crank will allow you to open up the awning, even when you lack power.

What We Like

If you want an all-in-one awning system without the fuss, this is the one to go for. We like that you don’t have to go out there and buy anything else. You can upgrade the canvas later on if you wish.

Various colors are also available, which is very rare for all-in-one systems like this.

What We Don’t Like

While the PVC awning material does provide protection, it does look a little bit cheap. Not the best for somebody looking for something with a more luxurious feel.

This is as basic as electric RV awnings come. However, don’t let that put you off. Sometimes, you don’t need everything with all the bells and whistles. You want something that will protect the top of your head, and this electric RV awning will more than provide on that front. 

The awning system comes with everything you need (except the power switch). This includes  PVC canvas. While it isn’t the best canvas in the world, it is UV, water, and stain-resistant. This means that it should stay looking tremendous for a long time.

What We Like

We do like how easy it is to install. There aren’t any complicated components here, which means that you will be able to get it up on your RV with the most basic of tools.

What We Don’t Like

This set doesn’t include the power switch. If you want to use the full functionality, you will need to purchase the power switch separately. This can add to the cost.

This is the arms hardware only, so you’ll need an existing awning set up to use this. This system just turns a manual setup into an electric one — a good electric one, at that.

This is probably one of the most complicated systems on this list, not in terms of installation. That is simple. It is all down to the various features that you have packed into this. Some of them will require you to purchase extra accessories, though.

Base functionality is a simple electric awning that opens and closes at the touch of a button. A safety lock button ensures that there will be no accidental opening and closing of the awning. It takes about one minute either way.

If you purchase separate awning lights and have them wired into the system, you will be able to control these from the control panel.

Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the wind sensor. Once it is wired in, the awning will close if it senses the wind is getting too high. This can save you from a rather costly awning replacement bill! You will need to purchase the wind sensor separately. 

What We Like

It is a simple piece of kit. It is compatible with most current awning systems, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to get hooked up to them. The installation is dead simple.

We love the speed at which the awning opens and closes too. You can tell that this is a set of awning hardware that has been built to last.

What We Don’t Like

There are so many cool features built into this set of electric awning arms. However, unfortunately, the bulk of these features are locked behind buying additional accessories. It adds to the cost.

This is just a set of roller arms. If you have a compatible system (most awning systems should be compatible), you switch out the dull manual arms for these automatic ones. It is a job that shouldn’t take more than 30-60 minutes. 

Includes both the front and rear roller assemblies. The motor is located in the front right arm for maximum power when unrolling. It takes about a minute to get your awning unrolled or rolled up again.

What We Like

We do like how many systems these electric arms are compatible with. As long as you have something branded, we reckon that these roller arms will go down a treat.

What We Don’t Like

The arms seem to rust easily. It doesn’t impact the functionality, but it can make the awning look slightly worse for wear.
