Confirm the AC Shroud is Intact The shroud is the plastic or metal cover that goes over your RV air conditioner to protect it from the elements.

Your air conditioner is attached to your RV’s roof with mounting bolts, water is kept out by rubber gaskets that seal once the bolts are tightened.

The easiest way to access the AC’s mounting bolts and rubber gaskets is from the interior of the RV. Remove the AC grill, and locate the mounting bolts.

Using your hand, first inspect the rubber gaskets. They should be springy and flexible. If they’re hard, crumbling, or broken, you need to replace them.

If your AC’s mounting bolts and gaskets, or OK, the next likely culprit is another opening somewhere on your roof.
